Derwen is the oak-framed one at the top of the field, built with its deck cantilevered out over the nant so the water runs underneath you while you eat. Inside there is a double at the far end, a bunk tucked behind a curtain for the small ones, and a wood burner that heats the whole pod in about twenty minutes.
It is the pod families take, and the one couples take when they want the room. The kitchen end has a two-ring hob, a proper sink and a fridge, so you can cook a full breakfast rather than balance a pan on a camping stove.
It is also the furthest from the parking, about eighty metres up a grass track. Worth knowing if you are carrying a lot, and worth the walk once you are sat on the deck.
Inside
- Double bed and a two-berth bunk, made up before you arrive
- Wood burner, with the first basket of logs on us
- Two-ring hob, sink, fridge and everything to cook with
- Shower room with a proper hot shower and a flushing loo
- Underfloor heating in the shower room for wet days
