Book the whole family into one lesson. £10 a rider holds the slot and the rest is paid at the yard, or ring Bethan and she will write you in.
Nobody is too old, too big or too nervous to start. Most of the adults I teach had been thinking about it for years before they rang.
Your first lesson
- Arrive fifteen minutes early so there is time to fit a hat and meet the pony.
- Boots with a small heel and long trousers. No trainers, no shorts.
- Hats and body protectors are here in every size, so bring nothing you don't own.
- Our ponies carry up to 13 stone. Tell us on the booking if that is tight and we will match you sensibly.
The yard
Talar Wen is a family yard on the hill road out of Trefddangos: a floodlit outdoor arena, eighteen stables and a string of ponies who have taught half the county to ride. Lessons run Tuesday to Sunday, from lead rein half hours for four year olds to private schooling for riders bringing their own horse.
Hats and body protectors are here in every size, so a first lesson needs nothing more than boots with a small heel and trousers you can move in. Bethan has taught at Talar Wen for twenty two years and takes as much care over a nervous adult as over the pony club lot.
Livery
Full, part and DIY, with turnout on the hill paddocks and the arena included.
Eighteen stables, hill paddocks with year round turnout, hay and bedding available on the yard, and the arena free to liveries outside lesson hours. We are usually full, so the waiting list is the honest answer most months.
